Next 11 Academy x Exodus Refugee: Welcoming Newcomers Through Soccer
Next 11 Academy is proud to partner with Exodus Refugee to support newly arriving children and their families as they begin their journey in the United States. Through this collaboration, we aim to provide young refugees with a sense of belonging, an opportunity to learn more about American culture, and a chance to enjoy a sport they already know and love. By offering a welcoming community and structured play, we hope to ease their transition and provide a positive, familiar space where they can grow and thrive.
As part of this initiative, Next 11 Academy will sponsor a select number of young athletes who have arrived through Exodus Refugee, ensuring they have access to training, games, and the support of a team. Soccer is more than just a game. It is a universal language that brings people together, builds confidence, and fosters lifelong friendships.
In addition to providing opportunities on the field, we are launching a donation drive to collect essential items for refugee families. Many arrive with little to no belongings, so we want to help ease their transition by providing necessities that will make their adjustment a little easier.
This partnership is personal to Next 11 Academy Founder Tamba Samba. He came to the U.S. as a refugee at three years old after fleeing civil war in Liberia. He knows how important a supportive community can be.
Last fall, Tamba visited Exodus and donated new soccer balls for arriving children. We are excited to continue and grow this partnership to help more families in the future.
We are collecting:
✅ New toiletries (soap, shampoo, deodorant, lotion, feminine hygiene products)
✅ New toothbrushes and toothpaste
✅ New clothing for children and adults (t-shirts, socks, jackets, gloves, hats)
✅ New and gently used household items (blankets, towels, kitchenware)
✅ Non-perishable food (rice, pasta, canned goods, cooking oil)
✅ Gently used youth soccer equipment (cleats, shin guards, soccer balls, training gear)
Donations will be collected until April and delivered to Exodus Refugee to directly benefit families in need. This is an opportunity for all of us at Next 11 Academy to give back in a meaningful way. It is not just about soccer. It is about helping families feel welcome, supported, and valued.
We encourage all of our players, families, and supporters to get behind this effort. Let’s show the power of community by coming together to support these families as they start their new lives.
Donation drop-off details coming soon. Stay tuned for ways to contribute and make a difference.
